In 1984, COMPUTERTOTS/COMPUTER EXPLORERS was founded on the idea that all children should have access to a quality technology education. Today, CTCE is a turnkey franchise system that reaches more than 25,000 students per week at nearly 1000 locations across the United States and internationally. Our 600 teachers prepare children for the future in nearly 2,000 schools.
COMPUTERTOTS/COMPUTER EXPLORERS was created BY Educators, FOR Educators and is currently taking technology education to new heights. CTCE reaches children ages three and older. Over the course of time, new elements such as robotics, engineering and digital applications have become incorporated into CTCE.
Inspired by work at MIT that utilized computers with young children, they launched their company with $1,500, a computer and ten 3- and 4-year-old children. From the beginning, they believed in the premise of active discovery learning in small, hands-on classes with a teacher who guided children through challenging yet fun lessons.
The concept took off and was franchised in 1989, expanded globally in 1994, and today the program reaches thousands of children and schools worldwide.
